weTHRIVE Conference Frequently Asked Questions

Why are there different tracks?

We added tracks to the 2020 THRIVE conference in recognition that women in each entrepreneurial stage face different challenges than those in other stages. Tracks allow us to better tailor the sessions to the needs of all types of entrepreneurs. Tracks also allow women to network with others in a similar entrepreneurial stage.

How do I choose the right track for me?

Review the descriptions and choose the track that best fits you and your business. If you fit into more than one track, review the sessions for each track. Choose the track with sessions that best speak to your entrepreneurial challenges.

Can I go to a session in another track?

Women registered for a specific track have priority for all the sessions in their track. If you would like to attend a different session, feel free to go to that session and check with the monitor. If there is room, you are welcome to join that session.

I haven’t started a business yet, but I’d like to. Can I attend WeTHRIVE?

Yes. WeTHRIVE is for women entrepreneurs in all stages, even those in the “dreaming” stage. Our general sessions and networking will provide you inspiration as you bring your business dream to reality and the breakout sessions in the Creativity to Start track will give you practical advice for when you start your business.

Why is the networking event at a different venue and day than the conference?

Feedback from our 2019 event stressed the need for more networking time, combined with a desire for a shorter all-day schedule.  Splitting the networking event from the educational event accommodates this feedback.

Why is attendance at the networking event capped at the first 100 registrants?

Our venue has space limitations, and we want to allow room to invite local and regional influencers for networking opportunities.

Can I attend the conference only, and not the networking event?

Yes, there is a different ticket price to attend the conference only.

Can I attend the networking reception only, and not the conference?

No. We are not offering a reception only option.

I signed up, but now I can’t attend. Can I get a refund?

No. Unfortunately, we are not able to process refunds.

Where can I park for the networking reception?

There is paid parking at the 1100 N Glebe Rd building and other nearby lots for the networking reception at Arlington Economic Development. The Ballston – MU Metro station on the Orange and Silver lines is a half-mile walk.

Where can I park for the conference?

There are two nearby parking garages. The Town Square Garage (Garage 61) at 786 Ellsworth Dr is a .1-mile walk to the Civic Center and The Wayne Avenue Garage (Garage 60) at 921 Wayne Ave is a .3-mile walk to the Civic Center. Parking at both garages is $1 per hour. The Silver Spring Metro station on the Red line is a half mile walk.
